Jaimie is the Customer Solutions Engineer for the Electrolyzer business at Accelera by Cummins, the zero-emission segment within Cummins.

Cummins is a global company headquartered in Columbus, Indiana. Cummins designs, manufactures, distributes, and services a broad portfolio of power solutions.  Cummins acquired Hydrogenics, a company with 70+ years of hydrogen experience and expertise, in 2019. Cummins brings an ability to industrialize and scale up production, leveraging its worldclass manufacturing capabilities.

Producing hydrogen from water electrolysis addresses climate change by avoiding carbon in the production of hydrogen. Green hydrogen can be used for a variety of applications including existing hydrogen uses like semiconductor manufacturing and cement processing as well as emerging uses of hydrogen such as fuel for fuel cells, green ammonia for fertilizer production and transport.

Jaimie works directly with customers to help them integrate Accelera’s electrolyzers into their facilities. Projects range from small, single turnkey units to huge gigawatt scale facilities. The uses of hydrogen can vary widely, so integrating Accelera’s equipment into the various applications can be an exciting challenge.

Jaimie has been with Cummins for over 10 years with 8 years in Power Generation and 2 years at Accelera by Cummins. She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering but learned the specifics of this role on the job, and by asking a lot of questions.

Prior to working at Cummins, she did research in graduate school at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities on characterizing emissions from a biomass gasification power generation system for rural electrification. She is passionate about rural electrification because of the 2 years she spent as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching math and science in a rural secondary school in Malawi in Africa.
